Michelin Star Chef and Restaurateur Opening Acclaimed Restaurant in Historic Class-A Office Building

Much-Anticipated Space Further Strengthens Heart of Seattle’s Retail Core at Fourth Ave. and Pike Street

SEATTLE, Wash. (May 27, 2021) – Urban Renaissance Group (www.urbanrengroup.com) (URG) and Michelin Star Chef and Restaurateur Michael Mina today announced Mina’s newest Bourbon Steak restaurant will officially open this fall in downtown Seattle at the iconic Joshua Green Building (JGB). Bourbon Steak is a legacy brand for the acclaimed MINA Group, with seven award winning locations across the country.

“Bourbon Steak is such a meaningful concept to me and the MINA Group family,” says Mina. “I was raised outside of Seattle and am firmly invested in the next iteration of the downtown area. I wanted to bring an experience that is as close to home for me as Seattle is!”

“With an impressive collection of innovative restaurant concepts located across the country, MINA Group is beloved and well-known,” said Urban Renaissance Group CEO Patrick Callahan. “Michael’s Bourbon Steak is the perfect fit for this space and location. It’s a true testament to the continuing strength, recovery and revitalization of the retail core throughout downtown—we’re so pleased to welcome Bourbon Steak to its first Seattle location.”

Slated to open at the popular intersection of 4th Ave & Pike, Bourbon Steak is a modern American steakhouse that features creative interpretations of classic steakhouse dishes, using the highest quality ingredients and an innovative culinary approach. The restaurant will focus on seasonal, regional ingredients and All-natural, organic and hormone free cuts of beef tempered in herb infused butter and wood grilled to order. Bourbon Steak will also be home to some of Seattle’s freshest seafood and shellfish with shipments arriving daily.

Menu highlights include hand-cut beef or ahi tuna tartare tableside, farmer’s market salads, and Michael Mina signatures such as Lobster Pot Pie and a trio of duck fat French fries for every table. Expect assorted seasonal sides such as black truffle mac & cheese, mirin glazed mushrooms, and crispy brussels; and decadent desserts including classic crème brulee and spiced apple tart.

An extensive bar program will feature hand-crafted signature cocktails highlighting spirits from local distilleries and around the world, a selection of local and domestic beers, and a substantial wine list featuring over 450 selections representing iconic vintners from the world’s most renowned wine-producing regions.

Bourbon Steak will be located in the Joshua Green building’s (JGB) ground-level retail space, which is located at 1433 4th Ave, Seattle, WA 98101 (previously home to RN74). The space will seat 125 in the dining room, with an additional 20 seats at the bar, and offer a private dining room with space for 16. The restaurant will be open Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday from 5-9PM, and Friday and Saturday from 5-9:30PM.

Recognized as a NAIOP Historic Renovation of the Year, the Joshua Green Building was renovated in 2008. Working closely with the Joshua Green Company, URG reimagined and reinvented the historic building— expanding its small, 1900s-era tenant spaces into desirable 8,000 square foot full-floor plates. The comprehensive restoration included installation of new, modern building systems, state-of-the-art tenant amenities, and a seismic retrofit that secured the building while leaving the base and sightlines intact. Within a year of completion, the 100,000 square- foot historic building was 85 percent leased, with five full-floor office tenants, in the midst of a challenging market.

Most recently, Urban Renaissance Group and KKR acquired the 300 Pine Building in downtown Seattle. Located on a full city block between 3rd and 4th Ave in the heart of Seattle’s retail core—just one block north of the Joshua Green Building—the 770,000 sq. ft., eight-story mixed-use iconic building with office space fully-leased further signifies the city’s strength and resilience and URG’s confidence in the region and downtown Seattle.
